Tonight 04:14
Tonight Once in a while the cool breeze makes the summer seem cold. Once in a while you forget everything that your told. Spent the night without a cent to your name Everybody was happy you came, and youʼre gone. One more for the road. Once in a while her best dress looks tattered and torn. Sheʼs got an ace up her sleeve, Blackjack, but sheʼs already won. She could never get to one million, so you tell her just to count to one, and youʼre gone. One more for the road. Two stories unfold. Every girl in this town is breaking hearts every single day. The musicʼs so loud you canʼt hear what you wanted to say. Try to buy another round and remember that you couldnʼt pay. When the sun is eclipsed we all sit watch the time decay. She wants to be with someone new, but tonight I want to be with you for a change. One more for the road. Two stories unfold. Three is not for me, not for me, not for me… Got a little a bit of this, got a little bit of that Got to put them all together, got a lot of booby traps and youʼll see, Not for me. Tonight the story ends.

Nadine 04:14
Nadine It seems we’ve come to the last scene, Nadine. The whole play came and went now we don’t know what to say. It might be stage fright, might be dreams, Nadine. After all, Flashback to the first act, first scene, Nadine. We were exact we knew the facts, knew what to say. We should have seen it coming we were looking the other way. You never know how these things go, but you try them all the same. I think you know what I mean, Nadine. I think you know what I mean, Nadine. How come you make me take the lead, Nadine? You know I’m not the man I used to be. I could have played the part, I could’ve done it so easily. You could’ve played the beauty queen. But we stand here watching, the whole things crashing, and falling apart at the seams. I think you know what I mean, Nadine. I think you know what I mean, I think I’m still in love with you, I think I’m still in love with you And if you still love me too, No ones watching, we’ll stop the talking, turn the lights off and Start it over again. I think you know what I mean, Nadine. I think you know what I mean, Nadine. Nadine.

Lucky Me 04:14
Lucky Me I found this dirty lucky penny, pavement was holding up so many Bronze plate waits the sea abates. She said, “I hate it when that happens, I waste the luck that I’ve been saving stored away for rainy days.” In time, her luck had run dry, just like with everybody else’s Gone away, gone away. Lucky me, lucky me. You can cross your fingers and hope to die, it won’t change a thing. Lucky me, lucky me. I can knock on wood ‘till my knuckles bleed, in the end it won’t change a thing. And the hare ran races, came in dead last. There were rumors running, the doubt was cast Overboard with the nets on the sail on the mast in the sea with the fish. And the hares big prize was his foot’s cut off It was sold to the girl that the time forgot And she wore it with pride in her raven locks Now she wins all the time at the track. Make a wish, blow out all your candles, this time they go out accidental Thirteen tries to get it right. This happens once in every lifetime, in fact, it already was in mine Just one win, I’m up again. Lucky me, lucky me. You can cross your fingers and hope to die, it won’t change a thing. Lucky me, lucky me. I can knock on wood ‘till my knuckles bleed, in the end it won’t change a thing. Lucky me, lucky me.

Girls in Cars Girls in cars, we drive around The stars come up, we sing out loud. Girls in cars go sliding by, I wish they’d stop, give me a ride. We giggle, we wiggle We jiggle we’re dancing We’re smoking, we’re driving We’re joking we’re singing We’re yelling, head banging We’re texting we’re speeding We’re toking, we’re talking Lying down in the back seat. (Doing drive-bys on our boyfriends) To see if he is where he’s supposed to be I hope he didn’t catch me in the drivers seat. (Oh god I think he just saw me) One more time around the block because I never want to stop and I have to go home. My gum, my hat, my shades, my bat Lipstick, face cream, dipstick, Visine, School books, bad brakes, good looks, good grades Mix tape, pine tree, driving down your street. Beep beep beep beep beep! Girls in cars, we are the stars of our own film we’re acting out. Girls in cars they act so tough, I wish they’d stop and pick me up. I don’t want to go home, ride around all night waving our arms out the window. The scenes fly past so fast so slow (Hey you guys going out tonight?) Get out of the house and hit the streets Five dollars in gas gotta last the week, but it goes so fast driving aimlessly (Telling secrets to each other) Like a giant handbag with four-wheel drive, we all want to go out but everyone needs a ride. My smokes, some weed, my jokes, CD’s New clothes, my ho’s, Tampax, Kleenex Lip gloss, high tops, exhaust, Five speed New tags, coffee, Driving down your street. Beep beep beep beep beep!

Io 03:52
Io When we arrived, on the moon of Io. Came to decide, if we should stay a while. We could make a home, collect some stones, chrome satellite phone, magnetic bones. So we settled down on the moon of Io. Surveyed the land, you held my hand Next to the volcano, the sulfur glow, home sweet home. Oh, this place it used to be so nice, So nice on the moon of Io Space stations have doubled in price, You can’t afford to even live in style. Cosmonauts they cover up the landscape, pack it up and seal it off with duct tape. Astronauts, and the rest of them, we all thought that we got the best of them. Now I think we’re going to have to move, move away from the moon of Io. Not the same as it used to be, all the tourists and Nuevo-riche Lunar rovers clogging up the freeway, flying cars chopping of the chimneys, Oh why oh why oh why oh why. Time ticks by so slow up here on Io We watch the clocks, outside the lava flows. Lonely and cold up here on Io Trapped in this box with nowhere to go. Watch the sunrise on the moon of Io. To our surprise, locals went wild. Aliens invade, we were made their slaves, planned to escape and run away. So we had to leave the moon of Io No time to grieve in single file. Say goodbye to our friends through the camera lens, let time transcend, The story ends. Time ticks by so slow up here on Io We watch the clocks, outside the lava flows. Lonely and cold up here on Io Trapped in this box with nowhere to go. Time ticks by so slow up here on Io We watch the clocks, outside the lava flows. Lonely and cold up here on Io Trapped in this box with nowhere to go.

Jenny 02:50
Jenny Jenny went out to say what she could say Saw a lot of sanes never saw the saneray Without the need for machaneray Found she could bay what she wanted to bay. Once upon a time in a land far away A couple of girls went out to play Didn’t have a game inside their head, made one up instead. They got some forks and rubber bands, tied the forks around their hands Pretending they were jungle lions, scratched each other both were crying. The two went home with bleeding eyes to their parents shocked surprise. They grew up, they’re in the work force, neither one can see, of course. One girl’s working making cutlery the other makes brail books to read. Jenny went out to see what she could see Saw a lot of scenes never saw the scenery Without the need for machinery Found she could be what she wanted to be. In the same part of town there was this man, glasses so thick he could see Japan. One day he fell and the glasses flew off, couldn’t see a thing, couldn’t pick them up. Two little girls came walking by, stole his glasses on the sly They brought them down to the riverside where they tortured wildlife. They got bored so they made a fire, burned down the town within an hour. The whole town dies, glasses survived, now people call them diamonds. Jenny went out to sigh what she could sigh Saw a lot of Sines never saw the sinerai Without the need for machinerai Found she could buy what she wanted to buy Two masked girls went out at night, together holding hands and two flashlights They made their way to the edge of town, they laid a picnic down. Sitting in the dark and eating wine and cheese K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Then the whole town heard the news, came after them with torches and brooms Both girls hid and shed their clothes, with flashlights did Morse code. You can still see the two in love at night, now folks call them fireflies. Jenny went out to sow what she could sow Saw a lot of sones never saw the sonero Without the need for maconero Found she could bow what she wanted to bow. Jenny went out the sue what she could sue Saw a lot of sunes never saw the suneru Without the need for machuneru Found she could boo what she wanted to boo

White Lies 03:49
White Lies Open me up, read me like a book You never look me in the eye when we’re talking alone. Carve me up, like a piece of meat You know you keep me on a leash you never throw me a bone. Take me out to disco dancing every single night until I’m passing out I’m blue in the face. Drop me off, let me off the hook You know I never look to see who’s calling, answer the phone Knock me out, pull out every tooth You know you’ll never know the truth, you never leave me alone I don’t need your funny games I played them all before I’m kind of bored you know I’m already gone. White lies covered up by black ties I’ve seen it in your blue eyes, yeah it’s written all over you. White lies saw me coming Red eyes crying out the white lies I don’t know who’s lying to who. Talk is cheap but more expensive is your attitude You tell me one thing but you mean the opposite. I’m sick of it, all these mixed drink messages Fabrications unraveling short skirt dresses I don’t need to tell you nothing You’ve heard it all, made up your mind, I know your kind, you’re already gone. White lies covered up by black ties I’ve seen it in your blue eyes, yeah it’s written all over you. White lies saw me coming Red eyes crying out the white lies I don’t know who’s lying to who. White lies covered up by black ties I’ve seen it in your blue eyes, yeah it’s written all over you. White lies saw me coming Red eyes crying out the white lies I don’t know who’s lying to who.

Pretend 04:12
Pretend Leave the keys here when you go make sure all your doors are locked The news don’t come on television, six o’clock screen sits there dark. We can watch ourselves recorded in fifty years, faces we forgot. We cannot remember what we felt because we didn’t feel then. Ahoo, so lets pretend. Your pick-up line’s “hello” And it works everywhere you go. You say, “goodbye” oh no And so it goes on as before. Ahoo, so lets pretend. Called the telephone bad reception now our voice is lost. Made these plans told all our friends about the email didn’t go out. No one’s coming no one cares, but uh, you and I should talk. Ahoo, and let’s pretend. Your pick-up line’s “hello” And it works everywhere you go. Wasting my time, I know. But it’s my own time to blow. You say, “goodbye” oh no And so it goes on as before. I wouldn’t mind, for sure, If there was never another re-run or they just cancelled the show. All day long you go to work without tools sharpened, dull blades. Save your breathe for nights to talk about all those good old days. You can unplug me and take my stitches out, that won’t be the end. Ahoo, and we pretend. Ahoo, and we pretend

Pretty Face 05:15
Pretty Face It starts like any other day, you wish the sun would go away. Up late again it’s all the same, no time to shower shit or shave. Outside in time to miss the train. Last night was oh so right but not quite right. Now you are on your way again. You should have stayed at home today, you feel like you can’t show your face. The people on the street all seem like a daydream. No one to see you coming there’s no one to see you go, no. It’s just going to be one of those days. On your way to see another pretty face Ain’t that always been the case, oh no. Move around never in the same place. I wait around, I wait around for you to show, And you’ll be on your way. This could not be an accident, you played the devils advocate. All this misguidedness can not be good for your skin. You’re swimming in indifference and all these games that you play Won’t help you with the rent you pay. Won’t make you sophisticated, I’m fed up, I’m tired of waiting. So get up and stop complaining. Show a little honesty, be good to me That time we wasted, it’ll never come again. On your way to see another pretty face Ain’t that always been the case, oh no. Move around never in the same place. I wait around, I wait around for you to show, And you’ll be on your way. On your way to see another pretty face Ain’t that always been the case, oh no. Move around never in the same place. I wait around, I wait around for you to show, You’re never ever satisfied the grass is greener on your side And so you’re on your way. So get on with it, you act up; what’s wrong with you? You never once helped me up when I fell down on the floor You cashed a cancelled check you didn’t get what you paid for But you always, always pay for what you get. It won’t happen again, that’s right Burning down that bridge you cross every time You get a little bit scared and a little bit over your head, feet over the line So I will try to start again, pretend that we were only friends While you’re on your way to see another pretty face. Yeah you’re on your way to see another pretty face.

Uh-Huh 05:03
Uh-huh Please don’t leave me like that, I missed the bus again. A portrait of you by the bedside table might be my only friend. So pour another drink for the two of us and line them up in front of me. I’ll drink for two and when I do, I’ll think of you and all you ever said to me was Uh-huh Uh-huh Uh-huh I’ve got no times for playing games, I’ve got no change to spare. A thousand pardons for being late, I wouldn’t tell you if I didn’t care. We both know the sad truth we tried to fight it nail and tooth. We both moved on a long time ago, it’s sad I know but all’s you ever said to me was Yeah, all you ever said to me was Uh-huh Uh-huh Uh-huh
